A couple issues

I am currently doing a panto on my new Avante and when I get to the end of the row I want to tie off the row. After doing 3 small stitches, I move the machine back to get extra thread to pull the bobbin thread up but every time I move the machine back, my top thread breaks. I don't understand why. My tension is good but it feels like my tension it really tight. Any suggestions?

If your tension is good when you are sewing, just reach up by the thread take up arm and pull some thread out before moving your machine. This will prevent your top thread from breaking.
