Best buy on thread

| I will be receiving my HQ and studio frame before Christmas (hopefully) and I want to be ready to get started so my question is what is the best cotton thread to use and where is the best buy or value to purchase the thread. Any suggestions and/or advice will be appreciated. |

The one thing you need to make sure is that you are using a good quality thread, sometimes price will indicate quality. Signature is a good thread however, it does tend to be linty. Just make sure you are diligent at keeping your bobbin area cleaned out.

| I really like Isacord thread. I use it in the top and in the bobbin. It is a trilobal polyester and comes in a many colors. I ordered from threadetc.com |

I like using Maxi Loc serger thread in top and bottom. There is some lint build up but not much.
I always clean between each bobbin change. Got in that habit when I started. You will get a lot less frustration if you keep that as a habit. |

I, too, have trouble with Superior breaking. I've been using Maxi-Lock serger thread in both the top and bottom and get great results. I also clean the bobbin area at each bobbin change. I found Maxi-Lock on sale and stocked up on every color they had.
I also like Isacor. |

I've been using the Maxi-Loc serger thread for about 2.5 years and have not had a complaint nor problem with hold up. I used it on a quilt for my husband so it is very well used and gets washed at least every other week of not more often and the Maxi Lock is holding up just fine.
