Has anyone had trouble with their bobbin case snagging. It will feed find (the way it should) then snag and you'll have to pull to release the thread, while it's in your hand. Discovered this after all possibilities of correcting eyelash problem, and everything was pointing to the bobbin area. I think I need to buy a new case, but not sure. I've had my HQ for 2 years and never had this problem.

Sounds like you have a burr on the inside of your case. You might try rubbing it with an emery cloth to see if that will take care of the problem. Are you sure this happens with all of your bobbins?
You could have a snag, but what it sounds like to me is that something is going on with the brake spring inside the bobbin case. Check the metal spring inside the bobbin case and see if anything is under it (lint, thread, etc). Check to see if the spring is raised so much that when you put your bobbin in the case, the top of the bobbin is above the edge of the bobbin case. Another thing to check is if the brake spring has been bent up a little bit. All these things can cause the thread to get caught under the spring and the thread will come out smoothly and then get caught onto the the spring and then pull smoothly again.

My last suggestion is to change bobbins and see if it does it with all bobbins or if there is somethig wrong with the bobbin.

I hope some of these suggestions help you figure out what is happening. Let us know if you figure out what it is.

This has been a very frustrating experience. Machine is in for service. It seems there was more to this than meets the eye. This is going to be interesting.

I am concerned that the 1st post, stating my concerns, was posted 7 days ago...and a response is just being received, especially where this forum is monitored daily, M-F.

I apologize we did not answer quick enough. I hope you have success getting your problem solved.

A whole new Hook Assembly had to be installed. Can you believe that. The machine was not quite 2 yrs. old.
Did they mention as to WHY the hook assembly needed to be replaced?
This is the 2nd reply to crashnquilt - let's see if it stays listed. I have a call regarding this to Utah with Gregg. Haven't heard anything YET. I love my HQ and definitely need answers regarding this issue.
