I have only had my used machine for a week but I did have a problem with the bobbin. I had bought those prewound bobbins and pulled off the cardboard sides as they showed on the DVD that came with the machine.

When I put it in the bobbin case----it kept slipping out. ARG. So I tried another and did not remove the cardboard. It worked perfect.

One time I also managed to have the little thingy that goes into the hole come out---big problems.
If you look at the tension spring you will find a small "hook" going into a hole, are you getting the thread under that "hook"? If not, this could be your problem. If you don't have that then I suggest getting a new bobbin case.

Do you have to adjust the tension spring everytime it comes out? If so sounds like your tension screw may be stripped out.

If your dealer is near you, take you bobbin case in and ask them to try it on their machine to see if it does the same thing. If it does, then you need a new case. If it doesn't you may need to have your machine serviced.
Make sure that you do not have a build up of lint under the spring. Carefully slid a fine pin under the hook and make sure there is no lint build up there. It can become as hard as a rock. Just a little bit of lint or thread under the hook can create problems. After cleaning it out you will have to reset your tension. Also, make sure that you are loading your bobbin properly and that it is rotating clockwise when you pull the thread out of the bobbin.

Pre-wound bobbins work well,we use them all the time. We do recommend taking off the two cardboard sides. They do fill the bobbins extra full so sometimes you will have problems with the thread coming off. If this happens just un-wind a couple of yards of thread, then you should not have any problems. As far as your bobbin case, check and make sure that you have not over tightened the little screw you use to adjust your tension. You can actually tighten it so much that it actually lifts off your bobbin. Loosen the screw (lefty loosey) and see if it drops back down where it should be. If by chance you have bent the spring you may have to get a new bobbin case.
