Can anyone help - my bobbin thread pulls out smoothly, then when I put the case in the machine it will stitch just fine for only about 2-5 inches then the thread won't pull out at all. argh! frustration!
Have you checked and made sure the bobbin thread is unwinding clockwise (as viewed when it's in the bobbin case)? I just had this happen to me. For some reason (old age no doubt) I ended up putting the bobbin in backwards....and yes, it would sew about 2-5 inches before it would mysteriously break.

good luck,

marianne
I have the same problem with the bobbin thread pulling out smoothly and then stitching just fine for 2-5 inches when the thread tightens and wont pull out. Hopefully someone will be able to help. It is very frustrating!
The only thing I can think might be the problem is are you leaving the pull out tail over the left side of the bobbin? You are not to put the bobbin thread over the opening before you put it into the machine. Also, the bobbin should unwind clockwise.
I just had this problem yesterday. I think the bobbin was too full, and the outside layer of thread was loose.
It was flopping out of the case and getting caught. I took it out of the case, cleaned the case, and unwound some of the loosely wound thread off the bobbin. Then it worked fine after that. The thread I had on the bobbin was something new that I was trying, and was finer than I usually use. Don't know if that was the cause
or not!
