bobbin thread

I've cleaned and oiled my HQ 16 per the instruction manual. I put in a new needle and new bobbin. My Problem is that the needle isn't picking up the bobbin thread. I've checked and re-checked to make sure I've inserted the bobbin thread and case correctly, but still can't get needle to bring up the bobbin thread. What am I missing?

It really sounds like the needle is in backwards.. be sure to run your fingernail down the front of the needle ..grove in the front..

I agree with Judy. Check to see if your neeedle is in backwards. If that is not the problem, let us know and we will figure out what else it could be.
