I have only had my HQ16 since January. The dealer set it up and I practiced on 8 yards of muslin (4 yards top and 4 yards backing with batting in between). No problems, worked great. I loaded a practice quilt and every few minutes the thread breaks. I've changed the needle twice, fiddled with the tension in both the top and the bottom, rethreaded the whole machine, and the thread still keeps breaking. It is the same brand of thread I used on the muslin, just a different color. Any suggestions? |

Try turning the needle just a split hair to the right. I have found this trick to work quite well for me. By doing this I can use any thread in my machine. Hope this helps. |

| I would check the needle also....it has to be just right. Also, if you have your quilt and backing to tight on the frame? Lint in the bobbin case? Have you broke a needle? I did not to long ago and it turned out that there was a nick somewhere "under there"....not for sure where, lol....not the bobbin case itself but....oh, you know what I'm talking about...lol |
