Hi,
Since 2 weeks I am owner of a Handiquilter portable frame and a Babylock Crown Jewel which seems similiar to the HQ Avante. I live in Austria and there is no help or education available. My Pfaff dealer set it all up but further he has no idea what it is all about. Now I am wondering when I have a 18" machine, why do I only have a 12 inch width to quilt. I can't get the machine further than the needle being 5 inch away from the front pole. When I am going back the needleholder pushes into the back pole. The ends of the carriage go over the table more than 6 inch. Is this really okay?
When I am working from the backside with a pantograph the ends always pump into my belly. That's no fun.
I hope my description is clear enough, cause English is not my native language.

The table that you have for your machine was made to accomadate a 16 inch throat space. The Crown Jewel has an 18 inch throat. The only way to have more quilting space is to have a table that has more distance between the poles. Maybe you can find out from the rep that sold your machine to you if there are other table options.

Thank you for the clear up. I have forwarded your answer to my dealer. He will contact Babylock in Germany who apparently sold the wrong table.
