Hi, my name is Carole, and I originally purchased an original handi-quilter frame, I have used a brother 1300quilt club machine, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The original video shows a brother 1500 being used, that and the juki are still a good bet when you can't afford the more expensive machine.
I bought a wooden table 6' due to space restrictions, and went with wood, because those plastic tables have to much bounce to them. I have considered other long arm machines to go with my original system, I like what I see from the HQ16, but am afraid that it may be to heavy for my older frame, so I have sent an e-mail to HQ and will see what they say. I did ask awhile back and seem to remember that they told me any parts for the older system are no longer available. I was also told to use the conduit poles to put over the original ones for more strength, and to combat the bending of the original poles. I'm so glad to have the forum, and all the info that I can get on the original system is very valuable for me. How, exactly, do you attach the conduit poles to the original ones so that they don't slip around, someone told me to use a screw of some sort to screw into the other poles, so that they would hold together. Does that sound right? thanks, I will check again for answers. I live in Las Vegas, Nv.
