Double needle and two threads

| I was doing some embellishing on a baby quilt this weekend and I wondered if it was possible to use a double needle and 2 threads with my HG16? Maybe a regular thread and a thinner or metal thread? I never have these thoughts when your help desk is open. I guess my mind wonders on weekends. I wait to hear from you. Thanks |

It is absolutely possible to use two threads at the same time. You would use the same Handi Quilter needle system--not a double needle. You put a cone of thread on each spool pin and use both sides of the thread mast(use the side of thread mast closest to the cone of thread), but thread the rest of it together the same as usual. The size of needle would be determined by how thick the threads are that you are using. Make sure you have checked the tension after it is threaded.
Good luck and I hope it turns out beautiful! Kathi Salter Handi Quilter Studio Educator |

| I had an AH HA moment in the middle of the night and figured the hole in the throat plate was too small for two needles. It's great to have people that think outside your box. It never occurred to me to use two threads in the same needle. Maybe going with a cotton and a metal or a So Fine thread. Can't wait to try. Thanks. |

| Has anyone used two threads in one needle? Had this afterthought and hope someone will respond. |
