Error trying to update

I have never done an update on my Prostitcher until now. I downloaded the latest version onto a new thumb drive, tried to update my prostitcher as the directions told me to and I received this message: error on line 1- path not found. The screen then went back to the white background with HandiQuilter logo. I am using the HQ 16 if that helps any. Any help would be appreciated.
