Before this forum gets too many questions, I'm wondering if it make sense to organize this by topic somehow.

Perhaps all questions for tensions in one place or under one topic, frame issues in another topic, etc. We can have Thread Tension, Frame Tension, Bobbin Questions, Frame Issues, For Sale, Fabric Questions, etc. Just somehow sorted for easier reading and researching answers.

Do you think we can separate out topics like this? Does anyone know? This will make searching for answers, when we have a problem, so much easier for everyone.

Otherwise, we're going to have the same mess we had before which was very hard to search for help. And it will not be taking advantage of our new clean environment.

If you guys would like it, and we can do it, we need to do it before it gets too cluttered. I'm happy to work on it, if you think it's helpful, and we can do it.

Just an idea. Thoughts? Pro's & Con's? Topic Suggestions? All feedback is very welcome.

Dgroby, Seems to me that this is a question you should be asking HQ16. It is their website and I would think that they are the only ones that can organize our questions by subject. Maybe a bug in someone's ear at the Help desk would get some answers.
I think Deb is an HQ educator, right?

Anyway- yes, it definitely needs topic organization. I'm also surprised that we don't have any ability to customize our view (sort to find newest posts, etc) but I don't know what back end software is being used. Might be worth investigating.

Well, thank you Hudsonsedge, but no, I'm not an HQ Educator. Just a happy camper who quilts daily :)

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and now stay at home and quilt to my hearts content and my body's ability! Life is good to me - and I'm so very fortunate :) I retired from a top computer mfr, where I wrote, implemented and managed IT Quality Assurance, but started out as a programmer. That's my background. Now I quilt :)

I think I have one of the best quilting machines for an individual. I chose to purchase from a company well known for it's customer service, for a reason. I, like everyone else, could have went anywhere! But I do love my HQ, and it fits all my needs :)

I have been lucky to learn so much about the HQ, and professional frame quilting, and continue to do so. I like to share what I can and help others enjoy it as much as I do. That's all :)

Of course, I would talk with HQ about this, but there's no reason to bother them if there is no interest. They are a wonderful customer-oriented group and desire for us to use this forum. They put a great deal of money into rewriting this for everyone's usage. They also staff their help desk, which is quite expensive, and intend for us to use that as well. These items fully support the company's commitment toward customer service. I honestly believe that if we would like some organization, as a group, the company would welcome us asking. Whether or not it can and will be done, is another question entirely. But it never hurts to ask! I would never presume to ask for any group, without the group saying this is something they would like :)

It's only a simple thought I had this morning. I wondered if folks would think it would be helpful, and what you thought of it. That's all :)

Boy - that sounded like a HQ soapbox, didn't it! LOL!

Deb
There will definitely need to be some sort of 'den mother' keeping things in the forum organized. I'd be happy to volunteer as well.

And Deb- ;) I thought you might be Debby, my area's trainer. Oops!

Please understand, I'm not asking for a job...I already one - quilting. LOL!

I believe HQ has staff allocated to provide the oversight for the forum and GLOGs they've added. This way, they can ensure quality is being maintained. I appreciate this, for sure!

I was only thinking of making a suggestion...if we thought it was a good one, and if not, then that's OK too. Never hurts to ask the group :)

HQ Management: Please please please provide some catagories for this forum. And make sure one is Pro-Stitcher (computerized component for the HQ). Connie
Yes, definitely a good idea. I wonder also, if the categories individual postings could be sorted by date, newest on top? Right now if you pull up a category, the topics seem to be in random order.

Have you "Tinkled" today?
It would be great if, in the forum, that HQ staff would identify themselves with a standard format like; HQ-Ashley. Then we know if a HQ staffer is responding or if it's just another quilting nut! Me included, just kidding. So far, I haven't seen much of a response from HQ. Putting topics in the forums would also help HQ designate a staffer to respond to our questions & comments. Thanks, Connie
