Getting top ready to quilt

| Do you have any great suggestions on how to more successfully iron the quilt top before you load it? My ironing board is not working too great when I have a large quilt top to iron before I load it. |

| Depending upon the space you have, get a piece of ply wood, cover the top with batting then a piece of heavy canves. Staple the batting and fabric to the bottom of the wood (make sure the staples don't come through to the top). Place the board on top of your ironing board or table. This gives you a really large ironing surface. I find it very difficult to iron an entire quilt so I iron after each step of each block and I iron each row as I assemble. Hope this helps you.
