Handiquilter II

I am thinking about getting the HQ-II frame, but don't understand from the pictures how you "steer" the sewing machine. Is there something extra you need to buy? Also, regarding the elongating tracks -- do they elongate by inches, or by multiples of the 48" length?

I had this set-up before I got my HQ-16. I believe there are different lengths of pipes that you can put together to get the size you need. Also, the machine sets on a moving platform, and you move the machine by holding on to it and pushing it around, from the back of the machine. There are a couple of small handles, actually, protrusions from the bottom of the platform near the back of the machine, but they don't help much. When you watch the video that comes with the frame, you can see the lady pushing her machine around to quilt with it. Where are you located? I'm looking to sell my original Handiquilter, that way you could see if you liked it or not. Let me know.

I understand that there have been quite a few improvement made to the II versus the original frame, so am not sure looking at an original would help much. Am I wrong? Live in north Florida.

My Handiquilter II (?) looks just like the one that is on the website now. I'm thinking it works the same way. You push the machine to quilt, it does not have handles on the front of the machine; however, I think they are available after-market from other manufacturers. Perhaps someone on here could verify that. Good luck with your search for information.
