I want to back a quilt for my one-year old grandson in satiny fabric. Have any of you done this on your HQ? Did you have any problems with this "slippery" fabric?
I have not tried using satin yet but I think I know where you might be able to get an answer.

Go to www.mqresource.com and ask the question there. There are several long time longarm pros that can give you all the help you would need.

I'm very interested in the answer so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
I backed a quilt with satin for my granddaughter. Just finished it. I was pleased with the result. It was not as slippery as I had expected.
My parents had satin sheets one time and my mother said it felt like they were 'alive' the whole time she was trying to sleep on them. She said it was all she could do to stay on them because they were so slick. I would think that the satin would make it slick and not stay on the bed. If it is for a toddler, however, they'd probably love the feel of the satin and would drag it everywhere!! I'm interested to see more comments on this subject.........
I just finished a quilt with Minkie on the back. I wasn't sure how the Minkie would work because it is s-t-r-e-a-c-h-y, but it worked out very well. It is soft, slick and very nice feeling for children.
