HQ sit-down and my display screen selctions

I have gotten an HQ Sixteen sit down model and wondered if my display has something wrong with it. When I first turn the machine on, after "booting up" it first displays "Speed 100%", but then changes to "Speed 10%" and doesn't change even if I adjust the "My Speed". After I adjust the "My Speed" and hit select, it goes back to the main menu and displays: "Speed 10%", "---FootMenu---", "Needle Up", "My Speed". Always displays "Speed 10%" no matter what speed I set it to. Also, should I see any other options on my display? The only two things I can see to make changes on are the needle up/down option and the speed option. (I don't have any stitch regulator on the machine.) My rep gave me the instruction class last night and she wasn't sure why it never changed from 10%. I will call technical support on Monday, but just wondered if anyone else had this same issue. I don't think it is affecting the sewing or the speed, but just won't display what I've set it to. I'm excited to have this forum to ask everyone else for their suggestions. There's nothing like "experience" with a machine and I appreciate any input here. |

I had the same experience. I called customer support and it was explained to me that the speed showing is the speed that it starts at when you start quilting. When you set a speed, you are only setting the maximum speed. I don't know if this makes sense but it made sense to me at the time. I hope you are enjoying your new HQ16 sit down model. I really like it and also hope there will be much more discussion on the forum with helpful hints. |

I wondered about the speed adjustment also and just decided that it probably has something to do with the Stitch Regulator and handles that come with the full table/pole/Stitch Regulator set up and just wouldn't pertain to my set up. The machine speed is fine for me and I do set my needle to stop in the down position. I love the fact that I can upgrade my machine to get all the upgrades if I ever wish even though I am pretty happy with things as they are. |
