Hi, my name is: barbielynne and I have quilted a wallhanging and a few baby quilts. I have just bought the HQ 16, pro table and frame. I didn't receive all the componits and am awaiting them. They should arrive tomorrow, 10/7/07 I have a few ?'s. I plan on quilting quilts mainly no larger than queen size. If I put the velcro on the bars that are set up for that size will I be able to unvelcro them and change the size of the frame? Maybe I should set the table up for the full length, althought this is the width of my room. Another ? is about the tracks. When I tape them to the table how do I change the table size, and what do you do with the extra track? Do you just let them hang over the table and let them bump against the wall? About the HQ16, how do I use the bobbin winder that came with the machine? There was only instructions on how to put it together. Thank you so much for helping me. I thought there would be more information that came with unit.:( |

I set my table up to the full size, b/c I have a king size bed, and figured I'd be doing some king size quilts. I had to put it caddy corner in the room. on the bars, you cut the velcro where the bars connect to each other, so you can take the bars apart, and the velcro will still be on them. on the DVD, it said to just leave the tracks hanging off the ends of the table if you didn't set it up all the way. I didn't think I'd like them dangling like that, so that's another reason I made it the largest size. Can't help w/ the bobbin winder, haven't used it yet, so far just keep using the prewound bobbins.. hope you enjoy! |

I have my frame and table set up for queen sized quilts and never change because I do all sizes of quilts. The bobbin winder is very easy to use. You guide the thread from the spool into the guide hole, over, then under the tension disc. Go to your bobbin that is on the take up spool - it is very hard to get your bobbin on it. Wrap your thread first going under the bobbin - while holding the tail of the thread - and wrap the thread around a few times. Press the lever forward and away you go. I love the bobbin winder. I've never used the prewound bobbins because I do so many quilts I feel it would be too costly. When you received your bobbin winder, didn't you receive the Auto Shut Off Bobbin Winder Instruction sheet? If not, I'd call HandiQuilter and request a copy. The pictures show the steps I just wrote about. Good Luck |

| Thank you monkeymomquilts & Donna for getting back on my ?'s. I am still awaiting those parts :( A bolt for the front handle on Danilynne (Hq16) and the T's for the pro table. I thought that I would be well on my way quilting by now. |

| I set up my adjustable table without two of the leaves and now I am planning to put at least one of them in so I can do a bigger quilt. Mine is diagonal in the room and I'm probably going to have to clear space in the closet to get one end in. I may be crawling under the table to get from one side to the other because of space limitations. That's not my first choice, but neither is knocking a hole in the wall or standing in the hallway. I didn't have room for my tracks to hang off the end of the table so I sawed them off. I think I can use the double sided adhesieve to match them up when I get the table extended. |

Jean Lazane Let me know how the tracks work once you adhear them back on. I can extend my table to its full length and still have about 18" to walk around. I wasn't sure if the poles would sage if I am only quilting a full size quilt on them. I just talked to a woman who use to own a HQ16 and she said that hers saged :(. What her DH did was to buy some square pipe and insert in the middle of the pipe so that it extended about 3' on either side of the extension. This worked great for her. She also told me that she had it set up on a carpeted room and that the whole vibrated. She suggested putting wood blocks under the table legs. Does anyone have any commets on any of this? I still have not gotten my parts from HQ:(:(:( I am going to call them in the morning 10-10. They told me that it should only take 3 days. It has been about 4 work days. Did anyone else have any problems? |
