I recently purchased a Pro Stitcher. I was told I could load my Statler Stitcher patterns for use on it too and see the PatternCAD software I have will even export as DXF or HQF files - though it won't import or open the DXF files. I have my library of DXF pattern files and can put them on my thumb drive, even in folders on the thumb drive I got with my Pro Stitcher, with HQF files in them, but when I load the thumb drive I don't get visibility to load the DXF files for use by the Pro Stitcher.

Has anyone tried this before? I am going for training this weekend but hoped to try a few of these out before then if I can figure it out.
When you save the files to your thumb drive they have to be in the *.QLI format. You can't import them into QuiltCad yet - they say it will come in another version. Prostitcher doesn't read DXF files. I have saved and use many Statler patterns (in the *.QLI format) and haven't had any problems. Cindy
Thanks for the pointer. I will give it a try!
Cindy,
I should have asked you how you've done the conversions. Is it easy? Will I need any special software or is there an export option I should be looking for? I took the patterns right off my Statler Stitcher when I pulled them in the DXF format, not from any pattern creating program.

I purchased my patterns in the *.QLI format. I'm not aware of a method to convert from *.DXF to *.QLI with either QuiltCad or the ProStitcher. You might try talking to a Statler Stitcher tech to see how it can be converted. Good Luck - it is a bummer to have patterns you've used and love and not be able to use them. Cindy
Your best option for conversion of files appears to be Pro-Q Designer (about $500). I have found that you can combine and/or convert ALL the various quilting file formats including DXF into HQF or any other file format for that matter. It is also quite powerful for designing complete quilts. It appears to be quite popular on the yahoo HQProSticher site. Check them out.
