| My machine came with a pre-wound M bobbin from Superior. You are suppose to take the cardboard off before inserting. I don't know about using other manufacturers M bobbins. |

Handiquilter recommends using the "M" class bobbin that we send out with the machine.

On another forum that I participate, there are several HQ16 owners that do use the other bobbins and like them. I'm thinking of purchasing some and trying them out.
Personally, I think the HQ16 bobbins are a bit expensive and way too many times have I gotten them already warped. At over $3 a bobbin, plus my dealer being 60 miles one way, that adds up to some money! |

| I use the ones with the holes in the sides and like them better then the HQ16 ones. Every one of them fit on the bobbin winder nice a snug, all the HQ16 ones were either to tight to slip on the bobbin winder or to loose. i had to adjust all the time. Also easier to insert the thread end through when winding. Bigger holes for older eyes! |

Handi Quilter recommends that you use the bobbins that came with your machine. After you have used a few bobbins you will have an idea of how much thread is left on it just by looking at it.
