Has anyone made a cover for their HQ? I am looking for some kind of pattern. I have a great old fashioned sewing machine to embroidery. I've made one for my Janome 11000, but trying to make a cover for the HQ is beyond me. Help!!!

Me Neither; although I've considered covering the whole thing with a white sheet, mainly to protect the quilt from light exposure while I'm away at work, to prevent unnecessary fading.

Mine is always in use, too. A fitted full/queen size sheet works great. Was going on vacation for a few weeks and that was my fast thinking before going out the door. It worked great.

Yes Cathie I agree with the Queen Size sheet, I need to keep mine covered when not in use as my kitty thinks the unfinished quilt is his new bed.

Maggied - a sheet especially cuz of cat; and a baby gate across the door works very well for the dog, especially when you have batting on the floor. Once enough of the quilt is worked and the batting has been rolled, then gate can come down. It really stinks when you have to repair a hole in the batting. Ask me how I know!!!!!! On second thought - a cat and dog - you better close the door. Another note: cuz of animals being in, around, and near our precious machines -try to give your sewing room an extra day of vaccum, clean your tracks, and in bobbin area. It does make a difference. A vaccum will alway get what you don't see. Good luck with your new machine. Cathie |
