Needing Oil Constantly

| Wonder if anyone is having a problem with the Avante needing oil every 5 minutes. I have oiled the shaft behind the bobbin case (had to remove the stitch plate). I have lightened the tention on the bobbin winder to make sure the thread wasn't wound too tightly, now have a call in to tech support. I love my machine so don't think I'm complaining, just want to know if its something I'm overlooking before I haul it 30 miles to get looked at. |

called tech support and problem solved. What a great crew HQ has. I even learned how to skype, talk about full service. I learned the proper way to oil my machine and he talked me through putting oil on the 'racer', which by the way doesn't usually need to be done. All I can say is, I'm glad I have an HQ and couldn't be more pleased with the tech support.
Thanks again Sam. Sincerely, Debbie |

I know this sounds like a really dumb question, but how did you know that you were needing oil constantly.... could you tell by the sound? the stitch qualilty?? ESP??? Just curious, since I am new at this.
thanks.... Phidge Howe - Fusion |

I'm pretty new at this myself. But, with all things, you have to use it to get acquainted with it. It would start to squeak after about 15-20 minutes of use so I would stop quilting and oil the hook area (by the way, I wasn't oiling in the right spot) and it would sew for another 15 minutes and start squeaking all over again. I knew that wasnt right so after much aggravation I finally called tech support. They were awesome and by using skype, he was able to show me where to oil my machine and he also troubleshooted the squeaky problem. If oiling properly, you should not have my problem. I think he said you can watch a video online about proper oiling. I bought my machine online from Oregon and I live in Florida so I was thrilled not to have to ship it across the country. Besides, I would miss her a lot. I totally love my machine. I have to tell you that my husband bought me the software (pro stitcher) and I was mad that he spent the money, boy was I wrong, that's all I use now. Loads of fun, easy to learn (I didn't even take a class) it's a great investment. If you don't have it, save up and get it, you won't be sorry.
Have a great New Year. Debbie Harrigan |
