Sue,
No, the lines on the leaders do not line up evenly across the 3 poles. They are only used for centering your quilt. When you pin your quilt to the leaders, begin in the center and work your way out each direction. After pinning and while you are rolling your quilt onto the frame, gently "massage" the quilt into position. Keep doing this as you roll your quilt on. This should help the problem of the center being tighter. When you are doing this only one person should "massage" the quilt because we all have different hand tension and you want the tension even throughout your quilt. I hope this helps. | Hi, I'd like to add to the HQ response about the center being tighter. I think this is common. As I begin to roll up the belly bar, I pull on the center of the leader to create a tighter center and I do this a couple times while rolling up the quilt backing. I think the buttons that are on the poles don't help any either. I have replaced all my poles except the tension bar with a solid pole. This causes some trouble with the gears on the ends of the poles but it improved my loading significantly. Good luck, Connie Kelsey |
