Original HQ frame help

I have the original HQ frame from several years ago and the Brother 1500. Wanting to use after long absence. Cannot get Brother 1500 to sew without breaking thread. Is there any help for these older units? Thanks

When was the last time you had the machine serviced? Maybe things need a little TLC from your machine tech. Have you checked your tension?

I have a Brother 1500, the last time I had thread breakage I took out the bobbin case and cleaned and oiled,(all the oil spots), and changed the needle; haven't had thread breakage since.
