Is there a guide to what all the different file type extensions are abbreviations for? I see extensions like .qli, .gpf, .hqf, .tap. I suspect I would have a better understanding of what each is for if I knew what the letters stood for.
Thanks, Tom |

| Okay, I'm going to guess, .hqf might be handi quilter format. I use a lot of .qli patterns with my pro stitcher and haven't had any problems. My guess might be quilters lingo idiot! Just kidding. Who do you buy your patterns from? I use a lot of Munnich Designs but heard Anne Bright does a great job although I haven't tried them yet. What about you? Connie |

You are right to assume that .hqf is Handi Quilter format. The others are from Quilt Cad, the software, etc. I'm not sure what they all stand for. If you look at page 20 in the owners manual, it gives some information on the different abbreviations.
I hope this is somewhat helpful. Kathi Salter Handi Quilter Studio Educator |

| I find that I use 3-4 digitized patterns a quilt. With each pass I have to save & close out of the pattern, go to the other pattern, then come back to the 1st (or 2nd, etc) pattern. Can the gurus at HQ make it so we can easily pick the pattern from a 'recently closed' list. Kinda like Microsoft Word or Excel shows your last 6 documents. This would save a lot of time for us HQ Queens. Scrolling through a thousand digital pattern is no fun, neither is keeping patterns on seperate flash drives. Thanks a bunch, Connie |

You can do that. First you need to create a "new" folder on your computer and transfer it in your jump drive. Name your folder so that you will know which quilt the designs are for. You can put all the designs that you are going to use on that quilt into the folder. When you pull the designs up on the Pro-stitcher and resize them save the changes as a .tap file. Go back to the root directory. Any thing that is saved as a .tap file, is in the root directory. Then go into Library and find your .tap file, press options and press copy and a new box will come up that will saw "Copy file to current folder". Press the back button until you find the correct folder and press accept. This way you will have just the patterns that you are using in one folder.
