After my studio frame was all set up today by my rep, my DH and I noticed that the pole under the takeup pole is touching the bed of my machine. I don't think it is supposed to do that is it? I cannot slide a sheet of paper under it and if that is the case there is no way my quilt backing, batting, and top will be able to fit without rubbing. The part of the frame that has the pole ends and sprockets are set at the highest level, so raising that part of the frame is not an option. Please contact ASAP as to what I should do because I would like to begin using my Christmas present as soon as I can.
Thanks

Mine is the same way. Has been since day one. I did try moving the frame up another hole on the sides but didn't like it because the quilt was "floating" over the machine. If you are concerned about it rubbing on the machine just wrap a piece of cotton batting around it.
When you don't have a quilt loaded on your frame the idler pole will ride on the bed of your machine. This is the correct position for the pole. When you load a quilt it will raise the bar off the bed of the machine. When you have a quilt loaded you should be able to place your fingertip between the bed of the machine and the idler bar. If you can fit any more than your fingertip between the quilt and the bed of the machine you have rolled your quilt too tight.
Good Luck.

I just read the info about the pole sitting on the bed of the machine. I'm going to go check, but I'm guessing the reason I get the vertical "bouncing" of the quilt as I stitch is that the pole is too high. Thanks. (I hope.)
