I was working on capturing a thumbnail design then began to setup for the design to quilt.. I disengaged motors, manually traced, then ran machine trace. Trace stopped and I got this messsage " Smart Quilt: Motor 1 Buffer overflow SMI Engine Error" I clicked OK.
From there I cancelled trace, tried to reload my pattern, but the screen was unresponse... frozen. Couldn't shut down, so I turned it off. I unengaged the carriage with the levers, made sure nothing was blocking the carriage (one of the cables was near the back wheel, so I moved that in case it was touching the wheel. Ran the diagnostics on the Avante... everything was working.. x,Y axis, needle, all of it. Turned on the prostitcher and it never got off of the intro screen for the IEI technology... Turned it off, turned of the entire machine. Then turned it all on again... Still nothing... the ProStitcher will not progress off of the IEI screen... Help! this is a brand new Avante and ProStitcher... So far I've had trouble with the screw holding the needle in and now this... I'm getting pretty frustrated ! 3 hours later: I unhooked and reattached computer plugs going into the unit. It rebooted but now I have a start menu (window's start menu) that appears. It doesn't automatically go to the HQ main menu... I can live with that. ... Loaded a design, then got some other warning and it shut down. Rebooted again, and this time it worked... I had 2 jumpdrives in D and E drives at boot up. One with the HQ designs and the other that I bought off internet. (My computer was virus scanned before I downloaded.) Any ideas? |

It sounds like a problem you need to call Customer Relations/Technical Support about. The number to call is 877-697-8458 Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM MST.

I found that if I boot up the PS without the jump drives inserted into the drives, it works fine. (Didn't call technical support)

Sandy,
Did you unplug the jump drive(s) before booting up? Also try disconnecting and reconnecting the plug into the PS. If you got other advice from the tech support, please post on the site... All my problems occur on the weekends, and this is the first place I look to try to solve them. Susan |
