About to make the big decision on which table to buy! Does anyone have any input one way or the other they would like to share? I appreciate the guidance! Brenda |

I have the QuilTABLE and LOVE IT! I like that I don't have to take it down and when I'm not quilting on the frame it makes a wonderful table for cutting or pattern placement! I've had my set up for about a year now. When we first set up the table, my husband went all over the table checking the level. Last week, we took the table apart and put it back together and re-leveled the table. We did that because I was starting to feel some vibration. When we put the table back together, voila, vibration was gone. It did the trick. Even if I had to do the purchase thing all over again, I would still order the QuilTable. |

Thanks so much! The vibration issue seems to be big with the portable table - I am guessing that it is much better with the QuilTable. But you still had to take it apart to re-level it ....hmmmmm! We have been through all the "build-it-ourselves" ideas, but I am afraid we would put out all that money and then not be totally satisfied and end up buying the QuilTable...no money savings then! I am concerned that the height needs to be adjustable - rather than building on kitchen cabinets or something - also it wouldn't be overly "portable." Thanks again, Brenda |

With the QuilTable you can adjust the height. The castors will allow you to adjust it. Regarding the take apart and put back together, I live in a mobile home and that may be the reason why we had to "re construct" the table. Like I said, once the reconstruct was done, it's smoother than a babies bottom. |

| Well, I ordered the QuilTable today. My machine should be here next week and the machine the week after! All signed up for the three-day class, too! Exciting!!!! |

| Dog Lover--I think you made the right decision. I initially bought the adjustable table. It vibrated a LOT. I decided to upgrade to the QuilTable and sold my adjustable table right her on the forum. I LOVE the QuilTable. I get no vibration and I leave it up all the time. I am lucky to have the room to keep it up, I know. It is also a nice-looking piece of furniture. Good luck! |

| I have the adjustable table and I guess I have some vibration, but it doesn't bounce the machine around and I don't know any better. I'm satisfied with my set up. |

| If space is an issue, which is the best table to get. I have seen the adjustable table and think it opens to 5'6" at its smallest. I have been told the new frame and table combination can open to as little as 4" but then is limited to either the 4" or 8' or 12' max. I am concerned because when it is not in use I would like to store it set up at its smallest point. Does anyone know the different dimensions for the adjustable table or the QuilTable. I am ready to buy but the decision on the table is my last one to make. |

| I have the adjustable table, and it comes with several "leaves", like a dining room table. It can be put together large enough for a king size, or small enough for a crib size. If you take your machine off it, along with the carriage and tracks (not hard to do!), the legs fold up like a banquet table, so you could lide it under a bed or something. My sewing room has to be used as a guest room every now and then, so I have to be able to break it down in a pinch, and my room is SMALL. I have mine set up for a full size quilt and I have to scooch around it to get across the room. These things take up more room than I had imagined! I think the dimensions are 56" to 10 feet. Regarding storage of this thing: it is HEAVY! I will not be trying to move this to another room when I have guests! |

When you buy an HQ with frame, do you have to buy a table too? If so, how does the frame mount on the table? Judging by the comments above the Quiltable is sturdier than the portable. How difficult is the leveling? I assume you need a good level to start. It is becoming clear that buying a machine and frame package isn't all that's needed. I'd need a table and what else is essential to buy? I'd be doing mostly freehand quilting, at least to start. thanks for the advice Carolyn |

| You will need to buy a table or make one. HQ offers several. I started with an 8 foot conference table from Staples and quickly realize they sag in the middle. My husband and I finally made one. If that is not an option for you I heard of something I would have done had I heard about it first. The HQ tables are fine I am sure but don't offer storage. I know several people who bought stock cabinet bases from Lowes and then stock countertop to put on top of them. The frame can attach with "C" clamps if you might want to take it down or screw into the table top for a more permanent installation. The cabinets provide a stable surface and offer nice looking, out of site storage. Mine has a shelf for storage but always looks messy. |
