| How often should I have my HQ16 serviced? It seems to be running fine, is cleaned and oiled with every bobbin change, and cleaned of all fuzz at the same time. Should this be determined by the number of stitches sewn or a time frame? |

I'm sure you might get several different responses but here's my rule of thumb
IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT Too many times I've taken a machine for "regular service" to have it come back not running as well as when I took it in for service. So no more! I'm not going to service a machine unless I've got a problem with it. |

| That's exactly how I feel, be it a sewing machine, car, whatever! |

The HQ16 is self oiling. As long as you are putting a drop of oil every other bobbin change on the front ledge where the hook slides around, you can go a long time without having it serviced. We recommend that you have it service every one or two years, depending on how much you use your machine. If you are keeping that one spot oiled and you are not hearing any abnormal noises or having any other issues, there is no need to have it serviced more often than that.
