I tried quilting through my quilting pattern on PressNSeal. Works great, but I can't get the tiny plastic fragments that are stuck under the stiches out. I tried ironing through a paper towel, but it doesn't work. Anyone got an idea how to remove them? Thanks |

What was your stitch length? I wander if you use a large stitch per inch if the plastic would come out a little easier. I saw the press n seal trick on one of the HQ videos and I can't remember which one. I don't remember them saying anything about the problems of the plastic left in the stitches. I bought some press n seal awhile ago as I wanted to try it also. If you figure it out let me know.

Great Idea, I had the same problem with the plastic so didn't try it again. I find that the golden paper (golden threads) works real well and tears off easily but as with everything it could get spendy if you used it too often.

I like to use tracing paper for sewing on a design. It tears and comes off very easy. You can usually get a pad of it for about a 1.00 at Walmart. What I can't get off with tearing and tweezers, I just toss in the washer and the rest of it comes out.

Can you please explain how you are doing this? I've not seen the video and it sounds like this could be helpful but I am having a hard time visualizing what you all are doing. Thanks!

Hello all!! I have used the Glad Press and seal, and I just love it!! I don't seem to have any trouble getting the sticky stuff off. When I use it, I can see where to place my design on the quilt!!

Joan We are tracing or freehand drawing a pattern on the press & seal, Tracing Paper, Golden Paper or whatever we are using. We draw it on with a marker that we can see. I use the little kiddies Crayola washable markers (you just have to remember not to spritz it with water or the color goes all over (it will come out with washing but my customers don't always wash their quilts). I think you can use a permanent marker too. not sure havn't done it. But I wouldn't use a dry erase marker, comes off too easy and powder gets everywhere. |

Make friends with the your doctor.... When you see him ask for alittle of the paper you sit on when when they do exams. They usually throw it away after you sit on it. This is great for tracing you patterns and sewing them on the quilt , It s thin like the paper from Golden Threads. Also a great stablizer for appilque. Its also free.

Has anyone tried onion skin paper? I would think this would work also. I have only had my HQ16 for 4 days so will get help from this forum to proceed.

Onion skin paper should work. I also think that tissue used in gift boxes would work.
