Stops stitching when using the stitch regulator

When i'm sewing in stitch regulator mode, I am unable to go from side to side. It does 4 or 5 very long stitches and then just stops. I can go up and down okay, just not sideways. It seems to do okay as long as I keep it moving to do loops - but the pattern i'm working on is a spiral square, with lots of side to side stitching.

I have also had problems with the machine stitching really fast in stitch regulated mode even when i'm not moving the machine very fast. It also beeps at me constantly, even when i'm going fairly slow. When I use the stitch regulated HQ 16 at shows or a local dealer they seem to work fantastic, but mine seems to be terrible. It was purchased in 2005 - have there been problems with the stitch regulators needing to be replaced?

I have changed the needle, tension is fine, works fine in manual mode, the wheels and track are okay. I've turned off, unplugged and replugged in everything. It's the same thread I always use. The machine is clean.

Everything is plugged in tightly and the wheel is working just fine. Also, I am going pretty darn slow when it decides to beep at me. It didn't use to beep when I was going that speed but seems to have started doing it in the last year. I admit, I can get going pretty fast, but it's doing this at very slow speeds. My stitches don't lengthen out when it's beeping at me, they are keeping their length - but the machine itself likes to speed itself up even when i've slowed down to stop my stitching.

The issue with the long stitches now is right at the beginning of my stitching. It wont get past those five stitches that are basting length and then it just quits. Any other possible suggestions. Our local repair shop is 2 weeks out (or more) on repairs and i've already paid out $120 for this once before without significant changes.

At this point you would be best to call into our customer service department at 1-877-8458 Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST. They should be able to help you resolve your problems.
