Hello fellow quilters! I've been looking at quilting machines for about a year -- I stumbled on this forum a couple weeks ago and have been reading the things ya all have written. I've been worried if I could learn to use a quilting maching but now I know there is a whole lot of resources available through this forum. I'm going to FL for the holidays and will be ordering my HQ the first week of January -- yippeee! I am so excited -- thanks for the info -- ya'll are great!

Any advise you can offer a newbie will really be appreciated!
Just have patience with yourself and DON'T FORGET TO BREATHE!!!!!!!!

If you've been watching the forum, then you already know what tools to order with your HQ.
You will absolutely love love love it. I've had mine now for only a month and wish I had more quilt tops finished so I could quilt them as you definitely need to practise. I did have a bit of trouble getting the correct tension at first but now I've done 4 quilts and I've changed thread, etc. and it works sooo amazing. Good luck and have fun.
Hi, I just got my machine and did 3 free style designs, I found it very, very easy. Setting it all up took some time at first. Remember to fill 3 bobbins so when you need to change them you will be ready. ENJOY lily
After you've had your machine set up for a while, it took about a month for me, be sure to re-level your table again. Even though you may think everything is okay, be sure to check the table level often. I check mine right before I put on a new quilt on the frame. It's not a problem with the table, it's the general environment itsself.
Hello everyone,

I wasn't sure where to ask this. I just recieved my HQ16 and its all set up and did some test runs on it. What I wondered was what was to come with the three hour class on the machine?
I never received my three hour class but as I recall they are supposed to cover threading the machine, adjusting the tension, cleaning the machine, how to load the quilt, how to advance the quilt, etc. Any training anyone is willing to give you will be helpful. There is also a wealth of info available on DVD. I bought several and still look at them from time to time.
