I am having an issue with the tension & I can't seem to find a solution in the previous topics.
I will start a quilt and the tension is fine, however about halfway through the quilt the tension appears to change. On the bottom of the quilt I am getting what appears to be (as previously discussed) "eyelashes" & puckering of the backing. My question is why would the tension change? I am keeping a constant speed throughout the quilt but for some reason it changes. For instance last night I was doing the topstitching on a quilt (queen size), which was beautiful for the first half, then the second half this happened! Now I am going to have to take half the stitches out because it looks awful. Then I took that quilt off the machine, put a new quilt on - did NOT touch/adjust the tension at all - began on the new quilt and the tension was fine again. Once again almost at the bottom of the quilt (twin size) the "eyelashes" and puckering began yet again. Any suggestions on what could be the problem??
