Vibration

| I have an HQ-16, new in Oct. 2009. What could be possible troubleshooting steps to determine cause of vibration. It has just started doing it, although I can still quilt and get a nice stitch. Have replaced needle, oiled bobbin hook, cleaned out bobbin area. It seems a little "noisy" also, kind of clattery. Don't know if I'm imagining it or not, but thought it didn't do that at first. The needle does not seem to be hitting anything as I check it with the handwheel. Thanks in advance for your reply. |

There are a few reasons you could be getting vibration. First of all, are you stitching in regulated or manual? If in manual, what speed are you stitching at? Also, what table are you using? Be sure that you are not tightening your quilt to tight on the frame. That can cause bouncing of the fabric and some vibration while quilting. If you can answer these questions, it might help me in determining what could be going on.
I'll be waiting your reply. Kathi Salter Handi Quilter Studio Educator |

Hi, Kathy,
I have the Quiltable and it was doing it mostly with SR on. I pretty much figured out that I had my quilt too tight on the frame. We also made extra sure the table was level. It's stitching fine now. Thanks for the help. Sarah |
