I purchased my Pro Stitcher last July and I have been having soooooooo much fun! I really love it! I discovered there are so many sights to purchase digitized designs to stitch out on my quilts. In particular, you may have heard of Anne Bright, a National Sales Rep for Gammill, and a designer of very beautiful digitized designs. You can find designs on her website to purchase, or you can join one of her clubs. I joined the $10/month club and I have gotten some awesome designs. I joined the Statler club (the format for the Gammill) and the designs stitch out beautifully. She formats her designs in Statler, PCQuilter, CompuQuilter, and IntelliQuilter formats.
Check out her website, and designs - if enough ProStitcher users request, I am sure she will begin formatting her designs in the HQ format. Let me know what you think. Happy Quilting! Waynna |

I just got my Handi Quilter Sixteen with the Pro Stitcher.
Can you tell me when you purchase digitized designs, do you download to your desktop and then to the USB stick or does it have to go into Quilt Cad? What is the process |

I hope to purchase my Pro-Stitcher in late August or early fall so I am researching a bit. If the designs that can be purchased are formatted for Statler, PC Quilter, and other systems, how do you get them loaded/formatted for the Pro-S? Thanks.

Saving your purchased digitized designs to your desktop is a good idea. However, once you see how many beautiful desgns there are out there and you start purchasing them, the filing system will begn to overwhelm you. What works for me is to save them on my hard drive in organized file folders, but you must be sure that you download and save all of the executable files you need to run your pattern. Also, I would suggest that you get pdf versions of your pattern so you have a picture of your design that you can put in a notebook/binder.
Happy quilting! wk |

| Organizing your designs into file folders is a must, it took 1 1/2 days for me to do this but it has saved me a lot of angst. Also, I suggest you put designs from different designers on seperate USB sticks. ie; Anne Bright on her own stick, One Song Needle Arts on another, etc. I save a lot of my file changes by calling them tempc (for corner) tempe (for edge to edge), etc. PS saves it in the subfolder I am in and it is easy to pick it again when advancing through the quilt. Good luck, Connie |

Hi Connie,
Do you use a particular software program to organize your patterns/files? When you mentioned "PS" in your previous email, were you referring to Pro Stitcher? Anyone else using a software program they like to organize their patterns/files? Thanks Waynna |

| Hi Waynna, Yes, I used the initials PS to mean ProStitcher, sorry for any confusion. I just put ALL of my design files from each designer in a seperate folder on my desktop. Then I made subfolders on a USB stick. These subfolders were named in the style of the designer. For example, Munnich identifies their similiar patterns by a 2 letters; ie; IN1003 stands for Insects so I created a folder called insects and FE1008 for Feathers, etc (the number is the pattern. But Anne Bright indentifies her pattern groupings by a title; ie; Almost Paisley. Actually, she has many patterns that are in groupings but so far I've only bought a few so I haven't figured out how I am going to organize them. I have a print out of all my pattens in a binder. After I've made each subfolder, I only transfer the file with my extension (QLI or HQF) into the file and get rid of all the ones that aren't written in my language. I hope this helps, Connie Kelsey |

Thanks, Connie. I appreciate your follow up. Can you point me to a good designer for feathers?
Thanks, Waynna |

| I like the designs of Anne Bright and One Song Needle Arts. Linda Lawson also has some super designs, although not many. These designers designs are well digitized. Good luck, Connie |
