* Nov 20th 2008 Hi, I find the HQ dvd for the handiquilter very informative, but there is no instruction for the pentagraph!!! Once i'm set up..what do I do next? I am not too much good with free form, I would be useful with a pattern. I got a pantograph pattern in the box, but how do I use it? Please help! |

* Nov 23rd 2008 The set of 3 dvd's by Suzanne Michelle Hyland which HQ sells on line (or in your local store) is very informative. Two of the dvd deal with using the pantagraphs. I bought the set of 3 and found them very helpful and incentive. I found the pattern grid and pattern port shown in the dvd's at baysidequilting.com. I also bought a dvd by Sharon Schamber called Schamber Quilts Stipple Basics from Bayside Quilting which was disappointing. I was expecting a dvd showing her doing the stippling and what I got was an adobe file with written instructions, pictures, and 14 inch quilt pattern to practice with; you can go on line at sharonschamber.com and see a free video of her doing the stippling techniques which is much, much better. |

Here is a link to a very good video for pantograph quilting:
http://www.thequiltingschool.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=180:pantograph-quilting&catid=905:gqs&Itemid=86 Although it is for a Gammill, it's very applicable to an HQ. I'm a new quilter and was afraid to start a pantograph, but after watching this video I just completed my first one and it turned out great. |
