Regulated or unregulated

| I was watching all three of the DVDs on how to quilt borders, motifs, and etc. with the HQ again. I noticed that the lady in the DVDs does not use the stitch regulator. Instead she has the speed set while she quilts. When I quilt with the stitch regulator I do feel awkward because of the sound of the motor speed up and slow down matching to my movements sporatically punctuated with beeps letting me know I had gone too fast. Not only do I find myself concentrating on where I am going but also to not go too fast or too slow. When I watched the DVDs, she just zips along effortlessly at her set speed and it looks to me like a less stressful way to go. I am new to the quilting with HQ. I was wondering if the more experienced quilters can tell me what they think about sticking to quilting with the stitch regulator or switch to quilting by adjusting the speed manually. |
