My arm isn't long enough!

Hello Fusion-ites,
As you might have guessed, my arm isn't long enough to reach my thread cone or the rear track lever. My work around is using a hammer on the back lever to lift and push down the back lever and a yardstick to manuver the thread into the rear thread guide. Or I can duck under my poles to reach the 2 distant spots. I only have 2" on the sides of the table so taking the machine head to the side doesn't work. Does anyone out there have this issue and cleaver work arounds? Hugs, Connie |

I don't know if this will work or not but I've thought a lot about it. I sell HQ's and have had more than one owner whose space was very limited on the sides. So here is my thoughts....
If you purchased a thread cone holder and mounted it to the top of your Fusion toward the front where you could reach it that may solve your problem! I'd use a strong industrial double sided Velcro tape to hold the thread cone holder onto the top of the machine head. You could then remove it to change threads if you needed to. Just make sure it is secure when up there. Your threading pattern would change slightly to be the same as if you were using a front Horizontal thread spool holder. I know that Superior Threads carries a thread cone holder for $15.95. You can also purchase one made by Dritz at Joann's for about $6.50. The industrial Velcro can be purchased at Lowes, Home Depot or your local Hardware store. Good Luck! I have pretty short arms too but wouldn't give up that nice big sewing space for ANYTHING! |
