Win a Copy of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6

What? Your candidate didn’t win on Tuesday? Or maybe he did? Either way, YOU could be a winner. We are giving away a FREE copy of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6.

We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6 — and there’s something for everyone. In fact, you will love the huge variety of blocks — from twists on the traditional to gorgeous appliqué to new and modern creations that you’ve never seen before. We spotted three blocks that show the huge variety you’ll find in this next collection of 100 blocks.

If you love scrappy style, why not try this block designed by Anita Grossman Solomon called Kaleidoscope Log Cabin. It combines traditional strip piecing techniques with paper piecing for what looks to be a quick-to-sew block to use up your growing scrap pile. (You do have a growing scrap pile, don’t you?) We love the randomness of the fabrics that went into this block. But note that the fabrics are dark on one side of the block and lighter on the other. There are probably many different ways that this block could be assembled into a quilt.

Or do you gravitate towards quilts that are more modern and geometric? Don’t you love this new block by Carolyn Beam, the creative editor at Quiltmaker magazine? Her block is called Disappearing Act and it’s a great block for featuring some unique fabrics — especially a focus fabric as the center square. Believe us when we say that this looks a lot more complicated than it is!

Of course we all love appliqué blocks, and this Prairie Flowers block by Peg Spradlin includes a twist with the prairie points that surround the appliqué design. Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6 also included an example of how to quilt this block. We agree with them that it is a great design for trapunto quilting to add texture and dimension to the quilt. And did you know that you can easily do trapunto quilting using Handi Quilter’s longarm machines?

To have an opportunity to win a copy of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6, simply leave a comment at the bottom of this post before midnight on Wednesday, November 14th to be part of the fun. Just hop over to the Quiltmaker blog, Quilty Pleasures, to see all of the blocks. And, of course, to find more chances to win.

Good luck! We’ll announce our winner on Thursday, November 15th.

**Update: No more entries! We announced our winner on 10/15. Thanks everyone who joined in the fun.**

I intended to write you one bit of word to be able to thank you so much as before for those lovely suggestions you have provided on this site. This has been so particularly generous with you to supply extensively what exactly numerous people would have advertised for an e book to get some cash for their own end, notably now that you might have done it in the event you decided. These solutions additionally worked as the easy way to realize that other people online have the same passion just as my own to know a good deal more regarding this issue. I believe there are some more fun periods ahead for those who view your website.
