Before You Drop Off a Quilt to a Longarm Quilter

Things to remember before dropping off your quilt to a longarm quilter:

(1) Make sure the backing is at least 4″ bigger (or more) on ALL sides of the quilt.

(2) Press the quilt and backing so all seams are flat to one side or pressed open.

(3) Trim and remove any threads.

(4) Make sure the quilt is square and flat (no rippled borders).

(5) Stay stitch around the outside of the quilt to make sure all seams are secure.

Hey longarm quilters — what else do you require from your clients?? Lots of great tips from our Facebook followers here.

Cristiana: the post you commented on is one of the tips. There’s been one most every day since the end of January. Just check the blog regularly for the tips. Enjoy!

Hi Irene. We’re cross-posting the tips on our blog since we realize not everyone has Facebook. The same tips are posted each day on the blog.
I’m sorry no one has answered your question about pantographs. I’ll find out the answer and let you know. I believe the size is simply limited by the width of your frame and the depth of the stitching area for the HQ18 Avante, which is 15″ quilting space.
