Electrical Engineer/Embedded Development

Scheduled Hours: Full-Time, M – F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Handi Quilter, the worldwide leader in longarm quilting machines and accessories has an immediate, full-time Electrical Engineer/Embedded Development position available. A BSEE or BSCS degree is required with a minimum of 5 current years of experience in an embedded hardware/software design capacity.

Job Duties include:

  • Development of software requirements
  • Development of hardware requirements and schematics
  • Circuit board layout experience a plus
  • Hardware debug
  • Embedded software development and debug on target hardware
  • Transition to production – BOM creation, sourcing, and documentation
  • Production support
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will possess the majority of the abilities listed below:
  • Strong experience with all phases of hardware and software development cycle on embedded systems including design, implementation, and debugging
  • Excellent programming skills in C and assembly language (ARM, PIC and MSP430)
  • Good problem solving and programming skills and software practice
  • Knowledge of servo motion control algorithms is a definite plus
  • Experience in System-Level Testing of HW/SW - preferred
  • Knowledge of OS - synchronization primitives, multi-threading, scheduling – is a plus
  • Familiarity with Source Control Systems (e.g. TFS) is a plus

 


Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • High volume of accounts payable transactions and journal entries with accuracy
  • Trial balance reconciliations
  • Month-end process and reconciliation tasks
  • Assisting with financial reporting
  • Working with other departments to resolve accounting related issues
  • And a variety of other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have the ability to:
  • Manage competing priorities
  • Maintain an organized workflow
  • Independently solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information 

Additional requirements:

  • A positive attitude
  • MS Office proficiency, including intermediate Excel skills
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles
  • Accounts payable experience
  • SAGE experience a plus
  • A minimum of two year’s accounting experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field a plus

Product Development Associate

Scheduled Hours: Full-Time, M – F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Product Development Associate is responsible for assisting in research, development, and the launch of new products for Handi Quilter. This position reports to the Director of Product Development and Management. Occasional weekend, overtime, and travel required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with development, operations, and management teams to ensure development and delivery of products within allotted timeline and budget
  • Assist in development of new products and enhancement of existing products
  • Prepare and organize project status and risk reporting
  • Work closely with quality to improve current products and in development of new products
  • Identify and implement process improvements to achieve goals related to product development
  • Train teams on product knowledge as required
  • Work with Managers and marketing teams to ensure that products and services meet customers’ current and future needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Previous work experience in product development and/or project management
  • Experience in the quilting or needle arts industry preferred
  • Strong time management skills
  • Self-starter with a go-getter and can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills along with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, database experience
