Required Skills and Abilities:          

Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service with the ability to work with and manage executive level employees in driving quality initiatives throughout the organization

Works with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers

Ability to create a team approach and environment while supervising workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity

Coordinates with engineering to provide technical and statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products

Provides technical and statistical expertise to teams and key personnel within the company

Formulates, documents, and maintains quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives

Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plan managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs

Creates, documents, and implements inspection criteria and procedures

Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes

Interacts with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts

Creates and directs test functions and applications

Maintains an active role on internal continuous improvement teams

Designs, develops and implements quality control training programs

Working knowledge of cause and corrective action methods

Working knowledge of SOP’s and value their usefulness

Ability to effectively train others on the “how to’s” of quality both internally and externally

Ability to prepare work schedules, supervise and develop staff members while working side-by-side with them

Ability to study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency

Confers with other managers within the company to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management, and quality assurance

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Proficient in MS Office and excellent general computer skills

Excellent problem solving and organizational skill

Excellent communication skills required for issuing written and oral instructions

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a Quality supervisory position
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Duties:                       

  • Ability to find, develop, and maintain new and existing retailers within the defined territory (territory includes but is not limited to Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana)
  • Helps create and sponsor special sales events, educational events, and promotions throughout the territory by advising, coaching, and  working with local HQ Reps and Accounts
  • Participates in the set-up, operation, and tear-down of show booths run by Corporate or one of its authorized representatives
  • Completes all required paperwork on a timely basis to manage the events, promotions, and shows authorized by HQ Representatives and accounts in the territory
  • Required to complete and submit on a timely basis all expense reports, account reports, and other paperwork generated in the maintenance, management, and operation of the territory
  • Returns all business telephone calls, emails, and correspondence in a timely and professional manner
  • Provides specific information about accounts to other employees as needed to aid them in maintaining and working with those accounts
  • Attends all Sales Team functions, meetings, and conferences as required
  • May be required to perform any and all business duties that will aid in the proper management and development of business in the sewing and craft industry 

Requirements:

  • Required to dress in business casual or business formal attire during work hours and event participation
  • Weekend work may be required for shows and/or events
  • Professional attitude, demeanor, and language are expected at all times during the execution and participation in and during all work related activities
  • Travel is 50 to 65 percent of this position
  • Must be computer literate in basic computer operation, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in multi-state territory management and sales a plus
  • Knowledge of or participation in quilting a plus
