Does crosshatching confuse you? Learn how to fit crosshatching into any space with Handi Quilter's no-math method. Start out with a simple plan on paper, then transfer the design to fabric and finally, go to the quilting machine to stitch it out using rulers to get the prefect lines. Crosshatching is beautiful behind motifs, in borders and blocks. You’ll want to use it everywhere once you learn how easy it is.
A feather here, a feather there and “OH man, that’s beautiful,” that’s what feathers can do for a quilt.
Learning the art of feathering is easier than you think. Spend time with us perfecting your feathers. This interactive class teaches you to draw and then quilt feathers and will give you a greater perspective of how feathers are formed and their importance in your quilting. Join us for some feathering fun.
Rulers and Templates Beyond
With rulers you get perfect curves… on your quilt. Straight lines will be straight and curved lines will be curved. Rulers and templates are great tools for finishing quilts. Quilt amazing designs with the variety of rulers available from Handi Quilter. Learn how to use the waves, arcs, ovals, circles, clam shells, and swags.
Learn how to make a big impact on a small scale. You’ll use the Micro Handles to quilt stippling, pebbling, loops, shells, spirals, and other micro designs. Watch your quilts go from blah to “RAH”! Micro quilting makes that much difference!
Bring an orphan to the party…a 12 inch orphan block with lots of quilting real estate. Translated that means a 12 x 12 inch block made with lots of plain colored fabric where your quilting will really show.
Let the party begin. We are inviting an Ohio Star, Log Cabin, Nine Patch, and all of their cousins. Fun and games never end as we put into practice all that you have learned throughout the retreat. It’s time to let your blocks really put on a show. Come have some fun and learn a lot! Besides, there’s bound to be plenty of block party treats.
