Mindy Powell

Mindy started sewing as a young girl, but her quilting passion caught fire when she moved to Bountiful, Utah, in 2004.  She joined a sewing group and friends convinced her to take a beginning quilting class at a local quilt shop.  “I remember thinking my friends’ quilts were amazing and there was no way I could make one without completely ruining it!” She took that class and kept the quilt as a reminder that anything is possible with knowledge, lots of practice, and the right tools. 

After purchasing an HQ Sixteen machine, she took a class at Handi Quilter, and a few months later began working at Handi Quilter testing quilting machines.  “Having been a part of the Handi Quilter Production team, I can testify of the time and detail that are put into engineering, building, fine-tuning, and testing each machine.  I could go on and on, but in short when you purchase a Handi Quilter machine you purchase quality!”  

Mindy is excited to share her passion for quilting as a Handi Quilter Studio Educator.  Her other passions include reading, long-distance running, singing with her daughter, watching both her sons’ sporting events, and spending time with her husband of sixteen years.
