Renae Russell

Renae Russell

Renae has had a love for textiles, crafting and painting for most of her life. She started hand quilting in her late teens and progressed to machine quilting. She has spent many years studying the art of quilting and sharing it with children, teens and adults. She has taught many new quilters about the rich heritage of quilting in her home studio, local schools and community settings.

Renae resides in South Eastern Michigan with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. While raising her family she has had the privilege of teaching quilting and basic sewing, painting murals for local business, and quilting for others. She acquired her first long arm machine in 2007 and quickly signed up for both U of HQ retreats and Machine Quilters Exposition. The retreats gave her valuable techniques and confidence to develop her own style and flair for quilting.
