pole problem

edited June 2014 in Ask An HQ Expert
I needed to mounting my hq 16 on 8' and I having problem with the pole which is touching the machine in the middle part.

  • If you have the "old style" poles, just raise the sides of the frame to the middle hole.
  • Adair,

Are your poles bent in the middle? If your quilt is dragging when it is loaded then you may need to raise the sides of the frame. However, when your quilt it loaded you should only be able to put your fingertips between the idler pole and the bed of the machine. If it is any higher than that your quilt will bounce, making it hard to quilt. Try not to overtighten your poles as you roll your quilts. This will help prevent your poles from bending.

    Good luck,
