room lighting
  • We're getting ready to build a new house. I'm looking for recommendations of what kind of lighting I should have installed over my quilting table. Any suggestions on lighting for the sewing room in general would be appreciated as well.
  • I have a large room, plenty of sunlight that I can control using blinds, overhead ceiling cam lights and daylight energy saving bulbs. Neighbors are amazed at the "glow" from the house windows, but I can see and save energy bills at the same time. I also like the light on a goose neck that has a clamp on the end of it - bought it through handiquilter years ago and still use it for most sewing. Have a wonderful quilting day
  • I have a 10x22 sewing room. one of the short walls has a nice window I control with wood blinds. I also have 4 pot lights and a center ceiling fan light. The light is great, but the pot lights put off a lot of heat. in the winter that's great, but when its 110 out, not so great. Be aware that fabrics can fade from indoor lighting too, not just sunlight. I love my "happy place" though.
