Bobbin winder tension
  • How do I jus pudge how to set the bobbin tension on the Sweet 16 bobbin winder? I have watched the video, but it does not indicate. The bobbin winder tension from the factory was so tight I could not get my bobbins to wind, so had to loosen it. Just wondering if there is a way to tell as it seems to be difficult to wind a bobbin, even after adjusting the spindle ie separating the spindle so the bobbin actually spins.
  • Sorry, should say "how do I judge how to set"...auto correct on the iPad!
  • Dear Ssgirl,
Having a proper wind on a bobbin is critical to good stitching. I am sorry that yours was set too tight. You can adjust the tension by adjusting the thread tensioner on the bobbin winder. You'll want to make sure that you have a firm wound bobbin. You can test your bobbins by pushing the thread with your fingertip. If it is spongy you can rewind the bobbin. I hope this helps.
