COTTONSEED GLORY NEWS—I am just getting back from my annual buying trip to Houston, Texas and I am glad to report that there was a lot of new and wonderful fabrics , patterns and books to keep us happily quilting in the months to come. Sadly though, attendance of buyers from quilt shops across the country was dramatically low…we’ve lost a lot of shops in the last year and many more just could not afford to come. Now in this economy is the time to really support your local brick and mortar quilt shops. That said, drop by and see the new things that will be arriving weekly---I hope you’ll like them!

More news! Handi -Quilter has a new product! The new 18” Avante. It has two stitch regulated modes, special lighting, runs on a v-track and more.  There is special  pricing right now on the popular HQ-16 plus, it is also the time of the year when I turn over my beloved floor model to make room for a new one…so there is a very special price on that---plus no shipping cost!  You all know how much I love the Handi-Quilter machines and that we offer FREE in-home set up and instruction, plus FREE continuing classes and education through our H-Q club. After trying all the competing machines at Quilt Market again this year---I still would not trade my HQ for any other machine out there no matter what the price!

It’s time again for our annual fun filled QUILTERS QUEST featuring twelve of the finest shops in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Grab a friend or two and hit the road for a fun filled adventure full of prizes, refreshments, a scavenger hunt and more. Visit all the shops for a chance to win our Grand Prize, an $1800. Horn sewing center, plus other great prize awards. All who finish will receive a special Quest tote bag, too. Even if you can’t do it all, each shop will have individual wonderful prize drawings. There is a prize for finding the special scavenger hunt item in each shop as well---ours is our brown bear who wears a special vest each season---he’ll be peeking out from a different spot each day! NEW this year---and extra day for your travels! November 11-15.  Wed thru Sat 9:30-6:00. Sunday 12.00-5.00.  Hope to see you all. Spread the word to your friends.

Happy Quilting,

Pat

  • Cathy, yes, we're the blog for Cottonseed Glory, not HandiQuilter as a whole. However, we're delighted that you've discovered the HandiQuilter machine! You are going to love it. We do! Hope you enjoy it... and maybe start your own blog about all the great projects you make with it. :)

  • Hi Pat, Just had to tell you about my trip to Houston this year. This was my first time, ever, to go to a quilt show of any kind. I really enjoyed the whole thing, but my best time was at the Handi Quilter Booth. I visited the booth several times during Saturday, Oct. 16th, (the only day I went). I would leave there, go to another Quilting Manufactures Booth, then back to the Handi Quilters Booth. I have to say that the HQ Machines were the smoothiest, easiest to run, move and had the best overall stitch quality that I seen over all the show. I left there that day the proud new owner of the New HQ Advante, (my first long arm). (Can hardly wait until the first week in December for shipment). Thanks so much to all your staff for the kind and helpful day there. I appreciated all of them. I appreciate you too, for the quality of Long Arms you have for us home users at an afforadble price.
