Grandmothers' Flower Garden

I'm sitting down for this one.  Gotta love those micro handles!!!  This quilt is 84x86 with lots of hexagons.  So for this one, I pulled up a stool and put on my micro handles.  Plugged in a book to listen to on my Ipod and away I go!!

I'm working on #3 but need to get back to customer quilt.

Moving Day!!

Yeah!  It's finally here.  The carpet was just laid, the men are gone, and I'm ready to move what I can.

Ready to move in

Still some trim work, one more light fixture, but I can work around that.  I will post the final pics in a day or two.

You never know....

You never know how large a room really is until you have to paint it...twice!!!!

2 walls to go and that makes 2 coats.  The carpet will be here Thurs. instead of Friday so I will be able to move back in a day earlier.

This is work, I ...

Tomorrow I paint!

Well, we are all done hanging drywall, priming and patching holes.  Tomorrow I start to paint.  All 27 feet.  I picked out a light brown? latte color. Carpet is being laid on Friday.  Hopefully I can get them to come earlier as my house is a complete disaster!!  I am ...

And the two shall become one!

Tomorrow morning at 10:00 am eastern time, the wall between these 2 rooms will be removed.  I am in desperate need of more space, and as this house is minus a basement, this is the next best thing.  I am going from 13' x 11.5' to 27'x ...

Block of the Month

TQS BOM #1

The only downside to doing a block of the month project is the wait!!  This block is the new Block of the Month from  "The Quilt Show" with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson.  It was designed by Susan H. Garman.

It works for me!

Another fan

Well. as predicted, I quilted this customer quilt with the HQ Baptist Fan Groovy board.  It looks great.  For the first time I used Signatures Pixelle thread.  Its a trilobal polyester.  It quilted like a dream!

Just want to say welcome to Matt and Bradie, and thanks for the quilting ...

I just finished this Moda University Block of the month.  It took 4 days on and off.  I am keeping to my New Years resolution and using my rulers more and more.  I did the clam shell in the red border and use the swag ruler to put my spine ...

And yet another....

The customer quilts keep coming in (yeah!) and again this one was perfect for the Baptist Fan groovy board.  For those of you who are new to quilting I highly recommend this template.  If anyone has a groovy board they use as much as I use this, please let me ...

New Years Day

Today I did something for me.  Actually it started last night.  I participated in a New Years Day mystery quilt.  You were given directions to make the quilt the day before and then New Years Day, loaded the quilt and waited for instructions as to how to quilt it.  it ...

New Years Resolution

With 3 years of quilting under my belt, my New Years resolution for 2009 will be to do more ruler work.  I really love the look, but I am a bit intimidated by using rulers.  My last customer quilt of 2008 really cried for straight line quilting, so I bit ...
