How to add a photo

To add a blog post, login to your Glog and go to the dashboard. To add a photo, you first need to create an album so that you can add photos to the album. To do this, click on the "New Photo Album", icon. You will see the following on your screen.

1. Give the album a name in the Name text box.

2. If you like, you can add a description to the album in the content area. This fuctions similarly to a word processing program.

3. The Live checkbox is there to determine whether the album will be visible on your Glog. You can uncheck this if you don't want the album to be visible online, but don't want to delete the album.

4. You will see a text box labeled "Ordering". This is how you can the order of your albums appear online. If you create multiple albums, you can change their order by typing a "1" in the album you want to appear first, a "2" in the album you want to appear second, and so on.

5. You will see a text box labeled "Tags". This is where you add key words about the topic of your post. See, when users use the search function, they can search for a specific topic. Let's say you write a post about Piecing Techniques. In the Tags text box, you would type, Piecing, Techniques", to bind those keywords to your post. This way, when another user searches for "Piecing Techniques", your blog post will show up in the list of search results. You can add many different tags, just be sure to separate them with a comma.

6. To save the album, press the Add Album button.

 

Now that you have an album created, you can add photos to it. To do this, click on the "Upload Photo" icon in the dashboard. You will see the following on your screen.

1. Type a name for the photo in the Name text box.

2. If you like, you can add a caption to the photo by typing it into the Caption box.

3. If you want to add a description to the photo, do so by typing into the large content box.

4. Leave the Album Photo box checked.

5. You can order your photos, just like your albums, the same way with the Ordering text box.

6. The Image text box is where you will add your photo. Click the Browse button to find the photo you want to upload. A screen will appear for you to navigate to where your photo is located on your computer. When you locate the photo, double click on it.

7. The Is live check box works the same way here as it does with the albums. Check it if you want the photo to be visible online.

8. This step is important. There is a drop down menu labeled "Album". Make sure it is not set to "---------", or else the photo upload will not work. Make sure you choose the correct album from the drop down box that you want to upload the photo to.

9. Now you can press the Add Photo button to finish adding the photo to your Glog.
