Class Day!!
July 19, 2010
Today started out early, especially after I read the Facebook post of Pappy's Quilting Shop in Maryville, TN. They still had open slots for the HQ classes being taught by HQ Educator Harriett Carpanini. I had signed up for the afternoon class but then decided since there were still open slots if I rushed I could get there in time. I was only an hour away so after a quick splish splash I was on my way. Living in a small town traffic isn't bad so I was able to buzzed down the hiway. As I rounded the last corner there was the HQ Truck sitting in the parking lot. I arrived at Pappy's just in time as Harriett was showing the first project using Solvy and yarn to make a scarf, we then learned to make chenille, how to use stickers as guides for outlines, etc. Also the importance of keeping the track and wheels clean for good movement, how to use "Channel Lock" to make straight lines. using a coloring sheet This was just one of the many projects we learned in the morning class. Afternoon classes were learning how to use stencils, rulers, and draw different designs on paper then actually stitched them using the Avante 18 and HQ 16. It was a great day and I know I learned alot. If you ever get a chance to take a class in your area sign up as it is well worth it. (I will post pictures soon)
Thanks to Pappy's Quilting and HQ Educator Harriett
